Examinator v4.26.0
13.10.2020
- Add question sequences: groups of questions where a question's answer must be finalized to unlock the following question in the group.
- Add solution to access an exam without having to scan a QR code or type/paste access URLs: the exam access URL can be passed in a query parameter and is then pre-filled.
- Implement the app as a PWA (Progressive Web App): Examinator loads faster (because static resources are cached locally) and it can be "installed" / "added to the home screen" much like a native app on most platforms.
- Fix text highlighting in Safari and Firefox.
- Fix text-area growing behaviour on Firefox (affects Freetext questions and comments).
- Improve automatic selection of back-facing camera, especially on non-English iOS devices.
- Offer camera selection in QR Code scanner when there is more than one camera.
- Improve the wording of some error messages and how they are displayed.
- Improve usability on smaller screens: most pages can now be scrolled if cut off.
- Drop platform-specific app isolation/immersion functionality (e.g. "app pinning", in-app admin console).
- Drop platform-specific storage functionality (e.g. loading demo exams and videos from "external" device storage).
- Show immediate error when saving a change locally fails.
- Drastically decrease likelihood of parallel submissions of the same exam.
- Shorten status update interval (60 seconds to 30 seconds) to improve monitoring latency.
- Show loading indicator while retrieving the list of self-assessments.
- Fix misaligned language selector buttons for self-assessments with more than two languages.
- Show a NET-1 error also on 504 ("Gateway Timeout") responses.
- Display app version more prominently and also on the main exam screen.
- Fix initially active but unresponsive step-navigation buttons on exams with sections.
- Stop trying to auto-focus input when pressing the question comment button (which didn't reliably pop up the soft keyboard on Android, and never worked on iOS), instead add an input prompt (like for Freetext questions).
- Stop hiding the question comment automatically - tapping the comment icon toggles the visibility as long as the comment is empty.
